This article provides an overview of the reporting process used for Foxway trade-in program. These reports are designed to give you a comprehensive view of your trade-in transactions and related details. At the end of the article, we have listed an overview of key fields included in the report, categorized for easy reference.
The goal of the report is to provide a basis for settlements between you and Foxway. Foxway provides two different kinds of reports for vendors: online trade-in report and in-store trade-in report. Reports are sent monthly via email. To start receiving these reports, please talk to your account manager.
Understanding Reporting Timelines
Foxway includes devices in the report when we have received and graded them in our facility. In case of online trade-in, we report devices after the consumer has accepted the final price (e.g. in case of grading mismatch). In the vendor report, the date Deal Date field refers to the system registration in the store, not the date of when the item arrives at our facility. This means there can be discrepancies if the store does not send the device immediately.
For example, if the deal is registered in the store during the last day of November but the device arrives at Foxway in the beginning of December, this device would be included in the December report.
While you pay the customer based on the deal date, the report is based on when Foxway receives the device at our facility. To ensure timely processing and accurate reporting, please make sure that devices are shipped to Foxway as quickly as possible.
Reporting differences between online and in-store trade-in
In-store and online trade-ins are very similar, with the main difference being that for online trade-ins, the customer sends the device directly to Foxway and Foxway pays the consumer for the device.
When we inspect online trade-in devices and discover discrepancies, we make a counteroffer if the device does not match the customer's description. The customer has a certain period to accept or decline the new offer. If they accept, we proceed with the payment based on the new amount; if they decline, we return the device.
In the online trade-in report, only the final grading result and its value is included. For in-store trade-in reports, we also include the initial grading result and its value. Devices returned to consumers are not included in the report; we only report on devices purchased by Foxway.
